She just called out what she saw and that was it. It was truth, not some bitchy groan-fest where she was trying to weasel herself into the Final 2. They didn't even think it was going to be F2 when the discussion was had. Nat was a crackhead on the jury and at the reunion show. I want to have Joel's babies. Kathy looked fabulous. Cirie hardly talked at the reunion. Oh well. I also can't believe she wasn't among the top 3 for fan faves. And finally, Parv did get lucky with how this season went. I think she probably wouldn't have been able to get anywhere near the finals if 1) John Dalton hadn't quit, 2) Jonathan Penner hadn't been medivacuated. I also think Amanda was probably hurt by the F2. She potentially would have still gotten the same three votes she got in this TC, but the other four would have been split between Parvati and Cirie.

As Cel said earlier, everyone knows the pre-merge game is going to be twisty. Best you can do is brace yourself and adapt when you can. Parvati adapted better than everyone with each wrinkle. When she was targeted, she went on the offensive - which established her as the power player in the game. When she was switched over, she turned another bad situation into the game-winning move by bringing in the girls the second she saw a glimmer of hope. Personally, I think Amanda lucking into the immunity idol switching locations was far more game-changing - and it happened post-merge, when the stakes are far higher. What people are missing is that Parvati was also a social game master. Cirie is the best social gamer ever, and Amanda is quite strong at it as well, but Parvati has her own charisma. Cirie, we saw, was unable to pull herself through on her own merits because she was so one-sided in her game play. (Is there anyone in the game who would have brought Cirie to the finals as a friend? Cirie sold herself as the swing vote. Once her vote was no longer needed, the people who had gotten their hands dirty could discard her - no matter who made it to the end.) Amanda, while more varied than Cirie, was still seen as having a more simplistic, "stay in alliances and win immunities" physical strategy. Mostly, Amanda lacked charisma. Parvati had the total package. Parv had bold moves to cite in front of the jury, friends on the jury to vote for her, more charm than her final two opponent and the confidence to sell herself. The right person won this game.

Guy wanted to vote out Jason after giving his word that he wouldn't. Then, Parvati votes him out and he takes it personal. Meanwhile in Cook Islands, Ozzy had a hand in voting out Parvati and Parv still gave him her vote at final TC. Karma is a bitch, ain't it? Now quit whining.

But yeah, her question was easily the strangest jury question ever, and that's saying quite a bit. I loved Jeff's face. Ozzy on the jury... egads. I knew he'd be an ass, but ugh. He slightly redeemed himself at the reunion with his Denise mocking. Am I the only one that thinks Amanda totally blew the jury AGAIN? Her answer to Cirie was terrible. All she did was make a better case for Parvati. She should have said "She's not more deserving than you. I brought Parvati to the finals with me because I thought I had a better chance to beat her than you." That gives Cirie an ego stroke and downplays Parvati's game. Also, her answer to Erik sucked, too. She should have admitted that she was acting at the TC where they convinced him to take off his IN. Parvati performed much better with the jury. I loved how she just owned her moves. If I was on the jury, I would definitely appreciate that. In fact, if there was someone that I thought made some bold strategic moves but then they failed to own them at the final TC, they might lose my vote. Jury performance is a huge part of the game in and of itself. I'm sad for Cirie. I'm sad that she didn't make it to the end, I'm sad that she didn't win, and I'm sad that she didn't even get the massive kudos she deserved at the reunion. I don't think she was playing a pity card at all.... Jeff asked her how it affected her game if it's final 2 instead of 3, and she was honest. Amanda seemed to just pick a fight with her. I can give Amanda a pass for that, because she did play two seasons back to back all the way through, and that has to be mentally draining. Still, when you have played the entire game for final 3, as Cirie beautifully did, there isn't much you can do at that point except win that final IC. I'm happy that Parvati won, though. She was far and away a better player than Amanda in many aspects, and was also able to effectively vocalize why she was. As she said at the reunion, the key was bringing in Nat and Alexis and being the "leader" of the alliance of 5 girls. She protected Amanda to break up Nat and Alexis, which also highly benefited her. Amanda would have happily stuck with James and Ozzy, which would have been a losing proposition. Both Cirie and Parv knew that wasn't a good idea. I noticed that Parv was getting a winner's edit way before the merge (pats back, I've still got it ). Cirie is a fantastic player who seems to be underrated, but I have to admit that Parvati did play the best game this season for the reasons Chris cited. She aligned herself beautifully and would have been taken to the end with Natalie, Amanda or Cirie. Great game, and a great season.

Not letting Parv respond was pathetic - he had to know she'd shred him for all the reasons DryLeeJosh mentioned above. If he had delivered the lines better, maybe he would get some credit, but my impressions was that someone told Ozzy what to say to win back fans. It was like watching Gong Li act in English. She recites the lines, but since she doesn't know the language so it comes out awkward and weird. Amanda also loses points for failing to say "I'm LIVID!" at any of the times Probst gave her the opening. Natalie is hilarious. She talks like a letter to the editor that has abused a thesaurus, choosing words that are similar in meaning to what she wants - but not quite right. Her question was normal for the serving (Natalish for "par for the course") in its baffling diction. I anyone finds an interview where she explains what she meant, please post it. For now, I'm assuming Natalie was just horny. It's pretty clear Natalie is a gnarled, fake bitch who would be tedious to be around - but I will admit she almost looked hot when on the jury. James remains charming, dumb as he is. I expected him to win the fan favorite and I have no problem with it - but Ozzy and Amanda as runners up? What the fuck, America? Probst really needed to point out the dumb moves were all done by Ozzy and his Ozzlets. Dude is moron and his fans are morons. This cannot be pointed out enough. Eliza needs to be on every season of Survivor. She is the constant between my two favorite seasons. (I also adore Ami, but Eliza stole the show.)

I have no clue which sites are out there with this stuff. I did a Google search for interviews (as this might be the most pointless day at my job ever and I have nothing else to do) and found an interview with Amanda. After reading that, Parvati winning is ever better. Amanda seems like such a bland, boring person. Nobody who uses "nice" as one of the first adjectives to describe them is remotely interesting. Amanda: I'm like a genuinely nice person, and I don't think a nice person can win this game, honestly. Everybody thought when I was crying about voting out Cirie was fake and it wasn't. It was genuine. I'm genuinely a nice person and I don't like to hurt people's feelings. Maybe you just can't have those qualities for this game. I don't know.

Maybe it's all the tears right at the end that lose everyone's respect. I think she just can't handle confrontation. She can't handle having people mad at her. It's why all of her jury responses basically boil down to "I'm sorrreeeeee... puppy face" If you pull that with a jury that halfway cares about gameplay, you're fucked. I think her response to Jeff about how you can't tell what the jury wants from you was really telling. Her strategy was about pleasing the jury, not about selling herself as a player. I think she could have had Eliza and Cirie's votes if she'd done the hard sell on her gameplay.

I agree, those two were definately up for grabs. I also thought for a moment that she might be able to swing Nat and Alexis over when Parv was talking about how she was completely loyal to her allies Amanda and Cirie. The look on Nat and Alexis' faces seemed to indicate that they were finally clueing in that they were merely a secondary alliance for Parv to fall back on if something went wrong. But a few smiles from Parv and an inability by Amada to sense an opportunity shut that down quickly. I honestly thought for a second that those two were going to be pissed at Parv for choosing Amanda over them. But then they immediately went back to being pissed at Amanda for taking their darling Parv from them. As far as i'm concerned, Alexis and Nat can be lumped in with Ozzy in the most useless jurors pool.

Cirie didn't respect Amanda's game and Natalie noted that Parvati didn't pull a Boston Rob - everything Parvati promised Natalie and Alexis was delivered, so they had no reason to be mad at her at all. (Nat said her bizarre question was just to screw with Parvati and make her uncomfortable, since her mind was already made up.) Parvati's interview is great and I recommend reading it. She was on point and smart in her assessments. Amanda's interviews leave you with the same negative impression the jury had of her, but Parvati's really makes you appreciate and respect her game even more.

Post-merge was fantastic, with a series of highly entertaining tribal councils and blindslides, and probably the most deserving final 4 in the history of the game. This was a gamers season all the way, full of strategy.
