Posts: 155 (06/28/08 6:18 PM) neener Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	When the Survivor World Cup rolls around, there's always a few people that I simply can't understand why they seem to be favorites on some level. They pop up every year, garner a respectable number of votes, but my reaction is always along the lines of "..seriously?" Maybe I don't remember them fully, or maybe I just never got them to begin with, but I thought I'd start this thread for people to give a defense of why they like certain people that I've almost entirely forgotten about. Maybe some fan will feel inspired to speak up on their Survivor hero's behalf. Feel free to add other people to the thread. So, without further ado, why do people like... Jake from Thailand? Christa from Pearl Islands? Tijuana from Pearl Islands? Kelly G. from Africa? Brian C. from Guatemala?

She was sarcastic, smart, engaging, and strategic. She ended up getting voted out because Tom/Ethan followed Lex wherever he wanted, because Brandon made a dumbass move, and because Lex's gut told him what to do. I'm actually surprised, given her post-boot demeanor that she's not more popular around here. Jake was just like-able. Probably the second most like-able person from the season. Then, I also liked Jan. Tijuana and Christa? No idea. Tijuana came off to me as annoying as hell and douchey. Christa was into illegal drugs so maybe that explains that.

That season really suffered when its three main entertaining narrators got voted off right in a row in Brian, Amy, and Brandon. Or rather, in my mind, "Brian C." was that boring hick with that hat, and I'd forgetten that the real Brian C. ever existed. I loved Brian C.! Hell, I probably even would have voted for him in a few SWC heats if I'd properly remembered who he was. Damn... it's getting to the point where there are just too many of these fuckers!

Good grief, we get it. You don't like Cirie. Apparently you've chosen to ignore all the previous explanations of why people like her in response to your 500 previous requests for someone to explain her popularity . . . So: let it be stipulated that Isle Be Back doesn't like Cirie. From now on when someone posts about Cirie, we'll all mentally append you saying "I don't get it; please explain." That way we can skip you having to post this EVERY TIME someone says they like her. P.S. Anyone who has heard me harp about Lex, Rupert or the Hippies will know this is totally hypocritcal of me, but I don't care.
