Emerald Nuts makes a new cocoa roasted almond item. I swear, every time I want to diet, they come out with some new incredible food item that I must eat until
I am sick of it.

I checked up on Mike Nelson, who is eating bacon for the entire month of February. So far, he's lost 10 pounds and lowered his blood pressure.

I always have those almonds in my desk drawer at work. I allow myself a capful a day. Well, I try to at least...

I ate the entire can in two days. All those tasty little almonds were calling out my name and I had to shut them up. If I ever see them on a store shelf again,
I will not stop and listen to their sad tale of woe and take them home with me. Just another proof of food companies being in cahoots with the Devil. If Jesus
loved me, I'd be naturally thin, I just know it.

It's mango season again! Finally! I got a bag of 10 ripe mangoes for the equivalent of 1 USD. And that was expensive because it's the first batch of
the season!

I think I have finally discovered the best recipe for tuna tartare that exists. Is it bad that I'm planning the house warming party around this dish?

Did you know that Mike Nelson failed at his eating of bacon for a month? He made it to the 27th and then couldn't or wouldn't continue. I keep waiting
for him to be the next celebrity death this week. Death by bacon. I like it.

I stole this and altered it. I was drunk so god only knows where the original came from.
Warning: Do not contemplate the contents of this dish. Just make it. Tell your internal Gordon Ramsey to STFU. This stuff is so good, I got my best friend's 12 year old super-picky daughter to eat raw fish...and ask for more! Likewise, the 11 year old twin boys that I gave birth to, one of whom has intense OCD, ate a whole bowl in about 15 minutes. Kyle lists this dish as one of his two "foods touching" exceptions. The other is pizza. Junk ya need: 1 Package Won-Ton Wrappers 1/2lb Sushi-grade Tuna (I like the Ahi they have at Whole Foods) cubed. 1/2 Avocado, (carefully) cut into small cubes 1/4 Seedless Cucumber cut into small cubes 1/4 cup Red Onion finely chopped 1 Tbsp Shallots finely chopped 2 Tbsp Mayo 1 Tbsp Honey 1.5 Tsp Chili Powder 1.5 Tsp Sesame Oil 1 Tsp Soy Sauce 1 Tsp Wasabi Powder 1 Tsp Powdered Ginger 1 Tsp Black Sesame Seeds toasted Chop, dice and otherwise brutalize items which indicate they should be so abused. Toast seeds at 350 for 3 minutes. Mix together tuna, avocado, cucumber, onion, shallots. In separate bowl, whisk together mayo, honey, chili powder, sesame oil, soy sauce, wasabi powder, ginger, toasted seeds. Gently fold tuna and veggies into mixture. Throw into fridge while you bust out the won-tons. Cut won-ton wrappers into triangles (bisect corner to corner). Fry in canola oil until light brown, using chopstick to turn them over because you are all 31 flavors of awesomesauce. Drain and salt lightly. Chips are to be used as a vehicle for tartare consumption. And this link is for Bum |

mother of god. I am eating the best chocolate I've ever tasted.
http://www.elbowchocolates.com/ I have the lime infused, the raspberry infused, the citrus and the *gasp* fleur de sel (which I am saving for last). |

I got some purple cauliflower at a farmer's market this weekend. It doesn't taste any different, but the color makes dinner oddly fun.

Kate... Arti's anal chocolates?
The word "artisanal" is so very wrong. |

Kate, that fleur de sel looked good, but I would have wanted to try the lavendar caramel. Thank heavens these elbow people don't have a shop near me!

I had that one a couple of days ago, divine.
I held a baby shower last weekend for my friend, and the other co-hostess bought these for party favors. She stashed the extras in various of my bags. She's doing some sort of cleanse, so I ended up with part of a chantilly cake, two quiches, a dozen croissants, and a bunch of chocolates. Daryl and I ate well this weekend. |

I have become a mutant freak this pregnancy. Yesterday I bought a bag of shredded cabbage, a big bag of bean sprouts, a big bag of pea pods, a bag of shredded
radishes, sliced mushrooms, water chestnuts, carrot coins and rice. Mixed all those veggies up, and steamed them in four separate batches (because that's
how many veggies there were). Cooked up 4 cups of rice. Made a sauce by mixing sesame oil, hosein, soy sauce and a touch of Pad Thai sauce with garlic and
ginger. Mixed up the rice, sauce, and 1/2 the veggies.
All that is left now 12 hours later is the other 1/2 of veggies and I'm making myself wait on making more sauce and rice. I'm the only one that has touched this. I don't think I've ever eaten that many veggies (and liked it, craving more) in my life. This was supposed to last me ALL WEEK. Plus, I've LOST weight the last few days. |
