He probably didn't like the original Transformers movie either. Most sequels are not as good as the first ones, but if you didn't like the first one,
then you're definitely not going to like the second one. It seems a foregone conclusion that they'll hate it, so why bother reviewing it?

I like to be informed before spending $10 on a movie. My views don't always match the critical consensus, but it's rare that I like something with 30%
favorable ratings. (Also Ebert gave the first one 3 out of 4 stars)
I enjoyed the first one even though it was stupid. Goofy but fun. I'm thinking I'll skip this one, maybe even on DVD. |

It's the critic's burden to review movies even if you'll know you'll hate it.
Speaking of which: coming soon, "Old Dogs" starring John Travolta and Robin Williams, from the director of Wild Hogs. |

I hated the first Transformers, and I haven't decided if I want to spend $10 to watch the sequel. Right now, I'm leaning towards NO.
It wasn't Ebert, but I read one review that said the sequel was like listening to some rocks in a clothes dryer for 2 1/2 hours. |

Interesting the reviews about Transformers 2. Several of my friends saw it (all 30ish females for what it's worth), and they all liked it better than the
first one.
I probably won't see it because I still need to see Up and the Hangover. |

I thought the first one was HORRIBLE. Jihad on Megan Fox.

As one reviewer put it: Terry Schiavo would have been bored by this bloated, ponderous piece of shit.
(Also it made $16 million at midnight showings last night) |

I saw that Terri Schaivo line and it didn't really work for me. Her vegetative state made her BORING, not BORED. I may be overthinking this.

What? You didn't notice the forever vapid look on her face? She clearly was bored with all the hype.

I'm so late to the party.
Up: A Ditto basically everyone here. Saw it in 3D, it was my first 3D digital movie, and it was incredible. It just made everything so vibrant and provided such a depth. I bawled my eyes out at the beginning. I think I was audibly crying at one point, embarassing weezerdude to no end. I cried again late in the movie. It's just a beautiful world. Ed Asner was wonderful. |

Body of Lies: B-. Decent but forgettable. The twists and turns weren't terribly exciting, the political statements are clumsily handled, and the romantic
subplot is unfortunate. But there are some interesting scenes and settings and the film isn't at all boring.
Leatherheads: D. Just bad. I thought a combination of George Clooney, John Krasinksi, and old timey football would be a winning combination. But no element of the film works. The tone is inconsistent as is the slapstick, the plot is uninteresting, and it's not at all funny or clever. The only redeeming part is the somewhat fun recreation of the 1920s. The International: C-. I had high hopes for this but I didn't end up caring about anything in the film. It's clumsy in a lot of ways. The varied locations are neat and the shootout at the Guggenheim is pretty sweet. Eagle Eye: D-. Awful. Just awful. I was very willing to suspend disbelief and just have fun. But it doesn't resolve in any sort of interesting or clever way. The characters are uniformly terrible. The dialog is horrible and there are few interactions that aren't a cliche. One of the worst films I've seen in some time. |

Eagle Eye....that's the name of that movie. The other day I was trying to recall the name of that really shitty Shia LaBeouf movie, but I was too lazy to
look it up online.

Or Indiana Jones and the Radiation-Insulated Refrigerator.

Apparently there was some thought to continuing the Indiana Jones franchise with Mutt as the lead. *shudder*

Of course, I'm not sure it matters who you cast when latter-day George Lucas ruins everything he touches.

Buff, is your subnic supposed to be as disturbing as it sounds?

Of course not. I have no idea how long that's been my nickname but assume it dates back to my complaints about wedding flower costs. No double entendres
for me.
